Custom Bin Liners

Custom Poly Bags / Bin Liners

A bin liner must fit the container, carry the load and release without tearing.

Custom bin liners protect the container and keep waste, parts or collected materials contained during handling. The right liner is defined by the bin opening, depth, load weight, waste type and closing method, not by color or nominal size alone.

Direct Answer

Measure the bin first. Then choose the film and closure.

First, measure the opening, depth and rim. Next, decide how much overhang you need to fold over the edge and how heavy the load will be. Then, select the gauge, color, closure and pack format that match the daily cleaning or production routine.

A liner that is too small will pull off the rim. A liner that is too thin may split under sharp waste or a heavy load. Extra height can solve both problems by giving the user more material to fold, grip and tie.

Size Notation

Read width, gusset, height and extra height correctly.

Suppliers often list a bin liner as width x gusset x height. For example, a 24 x 8 x 12 liner measures 24 inches across, 8 inches across the gusset and 12 inches in height. An “extra height” version adds film above the nominal height so the user can fold it over the rim. Always send the bin dimensions and the desired overhang with the inquiry.

Choose the liner style from the job it performs.

Flat liner

Best for dry waste, light loads and simple rectangular bins. It uses the least film and costs less per bag.

Gusseted liner

Adds depth for square or rectangular containers and lets the liner expand around the load.

Drawstring liner

Speeds up closing and removal in offices, hotels and janitorial programs. Confirm the drawstring strength against the load.

Star-sealed liner

Expands around the base of round or irregular containers. It is a practical route for wet or heavier loads when the film and seal support the application.

Roll or dispenser pack

Keeps liners organized for cleaning carts and high-frequency use. Choose cored, coreless or perforated rolls to match the dispenser.

Bin Liner Questions

What buyers ask before ordering custom bin liners

How do I measure a bin for the correct liner?

Measure the opening width, opening depth and interior height. Then, add the overhang you want outside the rim. Send all four figures, because the required liner size changes with the bin shape and how the user removes the bag.

What does mil mean on a bin liner?

One mil equals one thousandth of an inch, or approximately 0.0254 mm. A 6 mil liner therefore measures about 0.152 mm thick. Higher numbers generally mean a heavier film, but resin type and seal quality also affect performance.

What is an extra-height bin liner?

An extra-height liner adds film beyond the nominal height. That extra material folds over the rim, gives the user more room to tie or grip the bag and helps prevent the liner from dropping into the container.

Should I choose a drawstring or open-top liner?

Choose a drawstring liner when staff need fast closing and controlled removal. Choose an open-top liner when cost, simple packing or the existing tie method matters more. Both options can include extra height.

Which color is best for a bin liner?

Color often identifies the waste stream or hides the contents. Black and brown are common for general waste, while clear liners make inspection easier. Choose the color after confirming local sorting rules or internal procedures.

Can you print a logo or handling instruction on the liner?

Yes. We can print a logo, department name, recycling instruction or handling message. Keep the print placement clear of the closure and the main stretch area.

Can bin liners contain recycled material?

Recycled-content polyethylene options may be available depending on the required color, gauge and cleanliness. Local waste rules and the intended use determine whether a recycled-content claim is appropriate.
